Boquete in the Chiriqui
Highlands, the unique rural charm of Cocle and Chiriqui Province and its provincial capital of David or a hideaway on the Caribbean in
Bocas del Toro or Colon,

| Pedasi is a small town located on the tip of the Azuero
Peninsula in Los Santos province. What was once a little fishing village
is now attracting big name investors and Hollywood stars. Real estate
prices in the area have skyrocketed due to the attention this lovely (but
hardly unique to Panama), coastal area has attracted. Nearby villages of
Tonosi, Pocri and Las Tablas are starting to feel the effects that Pedasi’s
magical allure has wrought on property values in the area as well.
Pedasi is situated on the Tuna Coast, an area that stretches from
Punta Mala to Punta Naranjo which are the SE and SW points of
Azuero Peninsula. It is another of Panama’s most cherished sports
fishing areas with a wide variety of species and a fair number of charter
boats and local pangas to cater to every budget. Isla Iguana and its
surrounding waters are a national park and offers diving off shore and
nature watching on shore. Beaches near Pedasi, such as Venado, offer
some great surfing options and remain an uncrowded (although not as
removed as Santa Catalina) choice for Central American surf bums.
Only a couple of years ago, there was one place to stay in Pedasi and it
was a humble, but very comfortable hostel. Now, you can choose from
a variety of accommodations from a five star luxury property to more
modest mid level inns. Restaurants now offer a far greater choice than
typical Panamanian fare.
Pedasi is built around a traditional town square with a grid of streets
radiating from the central square. It is a very neatly built town with
clean streets and friendly locals. As the home to a former Panamanian
president, the town received a great deal of attention and consequently
has an excellent infrastructure and some very good roads.
Attention in the Azuero Peninsula is definitely focused on the activity
surrounding Pedasi. It is an alluring area with rolling hills, both jagged
rocky coast and fine dark beaches. There are some amazing properties
available for the medium to large investor. Right now, small parcels of
land are hard to come by and ready to occupy houses in the Azuero
are scarce. |
